What causes the error in the High Complexity Area in Lego Fortnite?

The “high complexity area” error is quite confusing. This appears on random tours, whether you’re building a shelter in your village or exploring a new biome.

It comes with a warning to “Delete the build or go away,” and in some cases, it can crash the game completely. But if you find your way into your world, you’ll notice that the building will no longer work.

While it mainly affects console players, it has been heard to occur on PC as well. So far, I’ve only seen this on my Switch, along with a delay and another error that forced me to pause.

The fact that this is more common among console players leads me to think that it might be related to the pressure on performance on those systems. These could also be server issues, as you must be connected to play.

Possible solutions to high complexity area error

Error You want to remove the build, but dismantling the elements is not working. The game may warn you about a high-complexity area when you haven’t built anything yet.

I know, it sounds very senseless. Whether you receive the error on the console or PC, here are some possible solutions that can help you get your villages up and running again:

  1. Return to the lobby and re-enter your world. I have encountered errors in Lego Fortnite that could be easily resolved by returning to the lobby, waiting for a minute, and entering the world again. If this error kicked you out of the world, check to see if the popup still appears.
  2. Restart the game. If this error persists, you may need to completely exit Fortnite and start again.
  3. Reboot your console or PC. Additionally, restarting your device may also help, especially if you’ve had a long gaming session.
  4. Check LEGO Fortnite It may also have something to do with the server, like the matchmaking issues we encountered. If so, check out what’s been reported on the X account (Twitter). You can also check if the servers are down.
  5. Reset your Internet connection. To cover your bases, it might be a good idea to reset your Internet connection, followed by a speed test.
  6. Create a new world. Nobody likes to lose progress. But if your world still shows this error and repeatedly kicks you out, it may be time to launch a new world or try a new seed.

These are all the possible methods that I have created to fix the High Complexity Area error in Lego Fortnite. As it appears to have a widespread presence across all platforms, this is something that should be addressed through a patch.

I have loved video games since the days of the family console, and I prefer adventure games such as God of War, Assassins Creed, Horizon Forbidden West, and Tomb Raider (before switching to RPGs). I have no bias towards any gaming console; for me, the best is the one that offers the most distinctive games. What matters to me are experiences with interesting storytelling, as the story is the basis of enjoyment more than the game-play.
